    Hi
We have had a hot tub for 7 years now in our garden and we use every single day. We bought a Catalina which is an American make and I can confirm that the mechanics are very robust we have never had anything go wrong the outer shell is of very hard wearing wood for all weathers – all we have had to do is enjoy and check chemicals and buy a new filter every year.
We always empty every 3 months to keep clean and fresh.
This has been the best purchase we have made.
Oh Catalina might be slightly more expensive but well worth it – should be able to pick up a four seater for around £5k – remember to think about where you will have it as the electrics will have to come from the fuse box.
    Enjoy

Hi, I have both a hot tub (small bath with jets) and a large 6 person spa. We rarely use the hot tub but the spa is used daily in the winter. It is a Blue Ridge brand (U.S.) and I purchased it about 15 years ago. The only maintenance it has ever required is to clean it about every 3-4 weeks or so. I usually pour about a quart of bleach in the water to keep it clean until the next refill. Once there was a small leak at a coupling next to the jet motor that simply needed tightening.
A spa is wonderful. It makes you sleep well at night and helps aching joints and muscles in older people like me. We have really enjoyed ours and I would buy another if needed. Good luck.
