How Long Should You Typically Put Hot Rollers In Your Hair?

My mom bought me some un-used hot rollers from a garage sale, but there’s no directions.
So how long should I put them in my hair?
And wouldn’t I burn myself by touching them to get them IN my hair?

    I’m a cosmetology student and our teacher told us that the hot rollers are to stay in the hair for only about 10 minutes, don’t go over that, you might damage your hair if you do. I don’t know about the whole burning your hand thing, lol, we haven’t done hot rollers on mannequins yet.

    until they cool off. about 10-15 mins. they dont get that hot so dont worry about burns. the sectioning of the hair and actual wrapping of hair around the curler requires practice for best results.
