ATM card is a debit card.It means if u have money in ur account u can draw or pay. If u do not have balance u can not draw or pay. Credit card is different from ATM card.Credit card can be used to buy goods n services,even if u have no balance in ur account.U can repay the amount of credit after buying goods n services.
Ur second question is about paying money from ur debit card for pan card.See,whether they allow this facilities or not.Some private organisations allow payment from debit card.
So debit card / ATM card n credit card r different.

ATM stands for Automatic Teller Machine. This it to make deposits or retrieve cash from your bank accounts. A Credit card allows you to make payments or purchases and owe the money to the credit card issuer. One has nothing to do with the other. Some businesses, however, will accept either as payment but the ATM deducts the money immediately from your account.

no. both are different. For applying for a PAN card online, you definitely need a credit card, until unless it allows net banking. In that case, you should have an access to net banking from your SBI. however, you can use your SBI atm card for shopping only if it is a debit card also.

Hi fren, i dont think u can pay using ur SBI ATM card. U need a credit card for suc transactions. If possible check if there is an option of paying through SBI net banking. if then u need not worry for a credit card. But before that u should have a net banking account in SBI..

there are 3 variants.
ATM – allows you to deposit and withdraw cash from ATM
Debit card – all facilities of ATM card + you can use it for purchases till you have balance in your account.
Credit card – lets you make purchases and pay later, like a loan.
in online transactions its usually a credit card, but some gateways accept debit cards. check on related web site.
A normal ATM card is of no use except for a ATM

No the ATM card and credit card are the two different things. While the ATM card is used for withdrawing cash from the ATM, a credit card is used for shopping and other disbursement of payments which strictly depends upon the credit limit of your account. No you cannot use your SBI ATM card for the Online shopping, a credit card would be a better choice instead.
As far as applying for PAN card is considered, you have to take a different route altogether. As far as the ATM card for Online shopping is considered you can disburse the payment through it, once the purchased item is delivered to you.
